In a bid to promote environmental protection and raise awareness about biodiversity in French Polynesia, the IUCN French National Committee held a conference for Socredo employees on September 26th, introducing the BESTLIFE2030 Programme. Socredo, a Polynesian bank committed to sustainable development, co-funds the IUCN French National Committee’s efforts in the Pacific region.

The event, attended by 20 enthusiastic employees, highlighted the importance of biodiversity conservation and previewed two upcoming projects under the BESTLIFE2030 Programme, set to be implemented in French Polynesia. Participants showed strong interest in the topics discussed, sparking a lively exchange of questions and ideas.

The positive reception of the conference underscores Socredo employees’ desire to engage with and learn more about environmental initiatives. Following the event, several participants requested additional sessions to deepen their understanding of the projects funded in the region.

This collaboration between the IUCN French National Committee and Socredo reflects a shared commitment to sustainability and showcases how the private sector can play an active role in addressing environmental challenges. As the BESTLIFE2030 Programme progresses, its goal is not only to protect biodiversity but also to cultivate a culture of environmental stewardship among local businesses and civil society.
